CREATION OF A BOOKSHELF

Aïre, Genève 2006

Here again, one of our clients requested us to design a bookshelf for the sitting room.

Possessing a PHD in history of art, our client-turned-friend fully grasped the sense of a custom-drawn piece of furniture and its contribution to the development of space.

Here, the bookshelf, detached from the front wall, advances five centimeters into the space of the hallway giving access to the bedrooms. This slight shift accomodates the sliding door of one of the bedrooms by forming an abutment and by accentuating the unsymmetric positioning of the artifact itself.

The natural aluminum shelves link the ensemble of the environment by integrating other organisational and harmonising instruments.
